Here we go!!! We are thrilled to announce one of the long-awaited OEF 2020 headliners, who are also our long-time friends, and a band that has tread the Obscene Extreme boards three times before, American Murder Metal band, MACABRE!!! There is nothing to mull over here and nothing else that needs to be said, the trio consisting of Corporate Death, Nefarious and Dennis the Menace have been massacring audiences in their unmistakable style since 1985. Their combination of death metal, grindcore, punk, jazz and thrash, among other influences, is a style that the guys have dubbed Murder Metal and has influenced a hoard of other bands around the world.
The same applies to their original lyrics, which revel in the most atrocious crimes and sadistic murderers this rotten globe has ever seen, with sarcastic irony and humour. Tracks such as Sinister Slaughter, Gloom or Dahmer have been forever engraved into the minds of extreme music fans!!! There is no other band like this!!! And we are all looking forward to MACABRE slaughtering us once again at the Battlefield with their matchless MURDER METAL!!!
Bio
2020 marks the milestone 35th year for Chicago’s Macabre.Macabre are, and have always been Corporate Death, Dennis The Menace and Nefarious.
Look for re-issues of their complete catalog as well as new music to support this special anniversary.
Macabre blends elements of true crime, math rock, nursery rhymes, punk, thrash, folk melodies, death metal, jazz fusion, black metal and more into an energetic, catchy and unmistakable amalgam. Murder Metal, the title of their latest release, refers to Macabre's signature style. It's a genre of one. The all-too-true tales of man's inhumanity to man are delivered with knife-edge precision, interspersed with Corporate Death's patented screech.
Fast and heavy, with a focus on things that make happy shiny people cringe, the original members, Corporate Death (guitar and vocals), Nefarious (bass and vocals) and Dennis the Menace (drums) are still together. Macabre have brought mayhem to the world for decades, playing dozens of countries over the years. Macabre's rabid fans, including members of bands ranging from Carcass to Slipknot, relish the band's tight and increasingly sophisticated music; they exult in their musical chops as much as in the band's sense of humor, their killer music, and its deadly subjects.
