Bio
Malignancy was founded in Yonkers in 1992 By vocalist Danny Nelson and guitarist Javier Velez and has shown remarkable resilience amidst a flurry of personnel changes. Despite these challenges, Nelson and Ron Kachnic, who replaced Velez in 1994, remain the band's sole constant members. The group issued three demos before securing a deal with United Guttural in 1998. Their debut full-length effort, Intrauterine Cannibalism, was released the following year and focused on bludgeoning brutal death metal in the vein of Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation. Ignorance Is Bliss, a compilation of their early demos, arrived in 2001, with the EP Cross Species Transmutation appearing.
